Sime Darby Oils Thailand has implemented internal waste separation processes to enable the production of protective uniforms for our street sweepers. These suits are manufactured from recycled PET bottles that have been turned into weaved fibers and colored with water reflection and fluorescent pigments. To make our “Broom Brothers” more secure, this was fashioned into a protective suit. This is critical to a street sweeper’s operation since it provides safety and prevents accidents while the operate. Also, it contributes to waste reduction since we gathered 3,745.92 kg of recyclable items, which equates to a carbon footprint reduction of 6,534 kg CO2 eq. or the equivalent of planting 1,711 trees.
